Thirteen years of hard work and studying is traditionally commended with a graduation ceremony, witnessed by dear friends and family. Just because a student is taught at home does not mean that he or she is not equally deserving of the same kind of celebration. With more freedom in the ceremony, family and mentors can speak personal words of encouragement to the graduate. Many families display their child’s portfolio and artwork since they have usually not participated in the years of school fairs and shows. It is encouraging to see how a child has progressed over the years, so this is a great way to celebrate years of improvement.
